The Kingston and Arthur's Vale Historical Area Management Board. The Board has two Norfolk Island and two Commonwealth representatives appointed to it.
The Norfolk Island Gaming Authority is established under the Gaming Supervision Act 1998 and consists of 3 members who are appointed for a 3 year term.
Members of the Norfolk Island Gaming Authority are appointed by the Administrator on the recommendation of the executive member. The Chief Minister & Minister for Intergovernmental Relations is the responsible executive member for Gaming on Norfolk Island.
Responsibilities of the Authority
The Gaming Authority role is to assess applications, conduct investigation/probity checks on applicants and their close associates, oversee the proper operation of gaming systems and structures, issue licences, and monitor the activities of all gaming operations.
Norfolk Island Government Tourist Bureau
The Tourist Board (or Bureau) is appointed by resolution of the Legislative Assembly. The Board is accountable to the Minister for Community services & Tourism for actions taken by the Tourist Bureau.
The Norfolk Island Government Tourist Bureau is established under the Norfolk Island Government Tourist Bureau Act 1980 and consists of five members for a one year term.
Responsibilities of the Board
The Tourist Board oversees the running of the Tourist Bureau. The Bureau is a body corporate with perpetual succession and its functions are to encourage travel to and travel within Norfolk Island, to seek and receive views, comments, suggestions and complaints concerning Norfolk Island tourism, and to offer advice to the Government on the means by which tourism might be extended or improved.

Norfolk Island Hospital Board
The Norfolk Island Hospital Board is appointed by the executive member. The Minister for Community Services is the responsible executive member for the Norfolk Island Hospital Enterprise.
The Norfolk Island Hospital Enterprise is established under the Norfolk Island Hospital Act 1985. The Enterprise is a body corporate with perpetual succession, has a seal, and subject to the Act is capable, in its corporate name, of doing all things a body corporate may do. The Board consists of the Director and 6 members each holding a term of 3 years
Responsibilities of the Board
The Director and the Board plan and administer for the long term development of health services to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services to the Norfolk Island community. They also advise the executive member on issues relating to the future development of the Enterprise and on public health issues.
The Immigration Committee Members are appointed by the Executive Member. The Minister for Immigration and Community Services is the responsible Executive Member for Immigration on Norfolk Island.
The Immigration Committee is administered as part of the Immigration Act 1980. The Act provides for a committee of not less than three and no more than five members, at least one and not more than two of whom shall be members of the Legislative Assembly. A member of the Committee holds office for two years but is eligible for re-appointment.
Responsibilities of the Board
The functions of the committee are to furnish reports to the executive member as provided by section 19 and 32 of the Act and any other matter, which the executive member refers to it. The committee may offer advice to the executive member with respect to any matter which, in its opinion, relates to the granting of permits, immigration to Norfolk Island or the declaration of persons to be residents of Norfolk Island, or otherwise relates to the operation of this Act.
Norfolk Island Planning Board
The Planning Board is appointed by the executive member. The Minister for Land & the Environment is the executive member responsible for planning and development of land issues in Norfolk Island.
The Planning Board is a statutory board established under the Planning Act and consists of one member of the Legislative Assembly and four other members drawn from the community for a three year term.
Responsibilities of the Board
The Planning Boards key function is the assessing of Category 2 and 3 planning applications and subsequent recommendation to the executive member with responsibility for planning.
The Public Service Board is a statutory board under the Public Sector management Act 2000

The CEO is the employer for the Public Service and the PSB is responsible for evaluating the performance of the Public Service and reporting to the Legislative Assembly, providing an appeals mechanism for those who wish to appeal unsuccessful employment applications or any unfair terminations. They play an Ombudsman type role where anyone who feels they have been mistreated by the public service or that the Public Service has not complied with the Act can complain to the Board who will have the matter investigated.
Social Services Board
The Norfolk Island Social Service Board members are appointed by the Administrator. The Minister for Community Services & Tourism is the executive member responsible for Social Services on Norfolk Island.
The Social Services Board is established under the Social Services Act 1980. The Board shall consist of not less than 3 nor more than 5 members. Of the members of the Board one or 2 shall be members of the Legislative Assembly; and 2 or 3 shall be persons appointed by the Administrator.
Responsibilities of the Board
The purpose of the Social Services Board is to make recommendations to the executive member concerning claims and the exercise of power by the authorised officer or executive member under the Social Services Act 1980. In addition the Board has the function of making recommendations to the executive member regarding Social Welfare in Norfolk Island, the likely cost of any extension of benefits under the Act, and the priority that should be given to an extension of benefits.
The Liquor Licensing Board is appointed by the executive member. The Minister for Finance is the executive member responsible for the Liquor Licensing Board on Norfolk Island.
The Liquor Licensing Board was established under the provisions of the Liquor Act 1960 and consists of three members for a three year term.
Responsibilities of the Board
The Liquor Licensing Board deals with the registration of licensed premises and the issue of permits for the manufacture, sale and consumption of liquor. The Board may, in its discretion grant or refuse an application for the grant, renewal, removal or transfer of a licence. The decision of the Board is final and conclusive.
Administrative Review Tribunal
"Members of the Administrative Review Tribunal are appointed
under the provisions of the Administrative Review Tribunal Act 1996 by the Administrator
and consist of a President, (the Chief Magistrate of the ACT), a Deputy President,
the senior member who are required to be enrolled as legal practitioners of
the High Court or of the Supreme Court of a State or Territory for not less
than five years, and ordinary members. A member of the Public Service is appointed
as the Secretary of the Tribunal.
Members of the Employment Conciliation Board are appointed by resolution of the Legislative Assembly on a proposal made by the responsible executive member, the Minister for Finance. Statutory requirement is that the Board consist of not less than three members appointed for a period of not less than two years and not more than three years. Members are eligible for re-appointment.
Responsibilities of the Board
The Board was established to provide the machinery for conciliation, adjudication and review in order to settle employment disputes under the Employment Act 1988 which deals with minimum terms and conditions of employment.
The Claims Committee is established under the Healthcare Act 1989 and the Minister for Community Services and Tourism is the responsible executive member.

Responsibilities of the Claims Committee
The Claims Committee is established to determine the entitlement of a person to free medical services and to determine applications made under the Act for reimbursement of costs incurred by an applicant.
The Legal Aid Advisory Committee is set up under the Legal Aid Act 1995 and establishes a committee of three members appointed by the executive member, the Chief Minister and Minister for Intergovernmental Relations. Members of the Advisory Committee hold appointment for two years and are eligible for re-appointment. An officer or employee of the Public Service is to perform the function of secretary to the Committee.
Responsibilities of the Advisory Committee
The executive member refers applications for Legal Aid to the Committee. Responsibilities of the Committee include making recommendations to the executive member in relation to financial assistance being provided on Norfolk Island, measures to improve legal education and access to legal services on the island and such other matters relating to legal assistance and legal education as are referred to the Committee by the executive member.
The Museum Trust is an instrumentality of the Crown in right of Norfolk Island and is established under the Museum Trust Act 1987. Members of the Trust hold appointment for two years and are eligible for re-appointment. There are seven members of the Trust appointed by the Minister for Community Services & Tourism.
Responsibilities of the Museum Trust
The members of the Museum Trust are responsible for the acquisition and cataloguing of heritage objects for display in a museum approved by the executive member whilst ensuring prevention of any physical damage or decay to those objects.
Norfolk Island Cultural Heritage Committee
The Protection of Moveable Cultural Heritage Act 1987 falls within the area of responsibility of the Minister Community Services & Tourism. Four members are appointed to the Norfolk Island Cultural Heritage Committee by the executive member on the recommendation of the Legislative Assembly for a term of up to four years and they are eligible for re-appointment.
Responsibilities of the Committee
The Act protects Norfolk Islands heritage of moveable cultural objects that are of importance to Norfolk Island for ethnological, archaeological, historical, literary, artistic, scientific or technological reasons and includes objects relating to the convicts, free settlers, military and naval personnel associated with the penal settlements and Pitcairn Islanders and their descendants. The Act also supports the protection by foreign countries of their cultural objects. The Committee is set up to furnish advice to the executive member on applications for the removal or export of cultural objects which are subject to export control and some of which may only be granted a certificate for export on the recommendation of the Legislative Assembly.
(NB) This is a non-statutory Board.
The Norfolk Island National Park Advisory Committee is to make recommendations into the running of the Norfolk Island National park (which includes Philip Island).
The Youth Advisory Council is under the Youth Advisory Council Act 2000 and is Appointed by the Government to advise on matters that affect young people. Membership is limited to applicants aged 16 years and over and under the age of 30.
Mental Health Tribunal
a statutory Board under the Mental Health Act 1996. the executive member is the Minister for Community Services & Tourism.
